Whilst studying Fine Art at Coventry Polytechnic, Nicola Senior explored the use of the figure as a means to convey emotion.
Specialising in painting, she was drawn also to printmaking, especially collographs and monoprinting.
She has practised a range of disciplines since then and now works predominantly in papier mache.
Still using the figure as a starting point, she often approaches it from a quirky, humourous angle.Some of her work has a bittersweet quality but her aim throughout is to elevate this neglected medium, often with the addition of mixed media.
She has also begun working on a range of paintings and prints.
